How does the 90-day report process work for expats in Thailand?

It’s amazing how the process differs depending on the immigration office. I just completed my first 90 day report at Samui immigration and did not have to complete the 90 day report form, just had to have a TM30 (residence certificate) and copy of my DTV visa. Handed that lot of paper in with my passport and was sorted in 10 minutes

Do I need to have $16k in my bank account upon arrival in Thailand with a DTV visa?

I arrived via BKK today on the DTV and all the agent asked was “are you going to be working here” . A simple “No” was all it took, got stamped till November this year
