I returned from Laos several months ago and dealt with a pleasant immigration officer at the land crossing into Thailand. He was in a booth under a huge roof. Unfortunately an enormous storm erupted and I was soaked. In addition birds had been nesting on the top of his booth and the wind dislodged heaps of feathers which blew down and stuck to my wet clothes. The rain was so heavy that we were unable to hear each other and we resorted to charades to communicate. Eventually we both got the giggles and I was re-entered without any problems.
