Gentlemen. I was aware of the usual practice of leaving every 90 days on a multiple entry visa. I said this to the Imm. officers at HCMC and they insisted I could just do the 90 report - no need to leave. My mistake was in believing them.

Right. It does say that. Bad info from HCMC Imm? I will go to Hua Hin Imm. and see what I have to do... I do have the docs ,etc, I need to apply for an 1 year extension.
