From all the comments and what you answered, I see only two ways:

1. You find an online job before moving. I was lucky enough to have my home office here before I retired. But you need to already know something that supports online, like me being a senior software developer. Just starting with YouTube will not do it, bc that take 5-10 years time.

2. Get married (I suppose you’re not 50+) to a Thai. You’ll need to show
*****
0 baht in a Thai bank account or
*****
monthly income or a mix of both.

There’s enough ladies looking for a supporter, so this part is easy; but beware, you find the wrong one and get divorced quickly and your visa is gone too.

The 400k should be easy, but you didn’t say how much you have saved.

Of course!

When I look at many details in our house, I must cry 🤣

It’s specially hard bc I’m Swiss. The quality and precision of Swiss products just can’t be compared.

Must live with it.

Hobby or not, it takes away labor from a Thai in a job that’s Thai only.

Of a bad neighbour saw you you’d have had big trouble.

Ah ok. I’ve heard that your only allowed a certain number of entries per year. But didn’t know that one can work around that via visa 😂

I didn’t say that the check is rare. They often check and I think they always check.

But they rarely force people to show the ticket. In many cases a simple “yes I know and I will extend at immigration” is enough.

But you obviously always had a ticket ready and showed it. Good for you.

And BTW. I once knew a German who was always taken out of line. At airports and at border crossing with car in Europe. Always!

It’s your face not your passport that makes them suspect something.

I doubt that. Isn’t it another 60 days?Everybody gets 60+30 with visa exemption. So what’s the reason to get a visa ?
Robert ********
If you’re scared of that, Google for an onward ticket service and bookmark it.

Should they force you to show a ticket (which is very rare), just book it then and there.

But usually they accept it when ppl show knowledge and explain they will extend at immigration, because that info is on the websites of embassies.

The 90 days start new after reentry. Forget about anything before you left.

As others said: yes.

But I would go for retirement extension. Waaaayyy less paperwork and the immigration officers prefer it too because it’s a lot less work for them.

Edit:

Plus you wouldn’t have to change anything, should you get divorced.
