ye seen all that and thats not a problem but as any one done it and what are the insurance costs like, assume they will be high as fixed to 3 but is stupid high or Ok take the hit high ?. Just looking at options as visa exempt is looking a bit hit and miss now
What ever you want to call it I'v arrived in bangkok on international flights at least 6 times a years for the last 7 years and never had a visa just 30 days on arrival. never being asked for funds at the airport, only one time at a land boarder which i have only ever done twice and then just showed them my plastic, (debit cards). Your coming on holiday its so easy just get on the plane and get a stamp at the airport. you don't need to go to the embassy if you planning staying 2 months.
Just get tourist visa on entry 30 days then get extension. If you going to other countries you can get another visa when you come back to thai. Its easy your going on holiday. People love to make things complicated you dont need cash at the airport just plastic. They have seen bank cards in thailand. Its a whole lot harder to get into the states than it is thsiland
Overstayed a couple of times 1-3 days no problem in an out of Thai many times a year, even asked at immigration in Udon once, when my friend was doing his report and told just pay the fine not worth getting an extension. So no problem just go to the desk and say I'v overstayed a couple of days and smile
