Ok finally going to have to get a visa 12 years on 30 day entry stamps, but still going to be leaving the country 6-8 times a year, retirement vise is probably the easiest, what is the re-entry process, have a vise for states its just show at immigration no problem, but i remember people going on about re-entry stamps ect before you leave that seem a pain and them will i have to go to immigration every time i return for TM-30, its just easier on 30 day for me but know I'm flagged red now on entry, but never had a problem, just say i holiday a lot

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the challenges of transitioning from 30-day entry stamps to a retirement visa in Thailand. The user queries about the re-entry process, particularly concerning multi-entry permits and the necessity of dealing with immigration for TM-30 notifications. Several comments suggest that the retirement visa (Non-O) offers a simpler and more stable option for long-term stays, allowing for multiple entries without the hassle of frequent renewals. Suggestions include obtaining the Non-O-A visa from specific consulates in the US and confirmation that it allows unlimited entries for one year. There are also warnings regarding potential entry denials if the user continues using 30-day stamps excessively.

I was in the same boat Rob. I've gone down the 12 month multi entry Non Imm O visa from Savannakhet based on marriage to a Thai. That seemed to be the only option for me as I'm not at the ripe old retirement age yet. If your already in Udon (and married to a Thai) you could sort that out whilst your home this time and skip the trip to UK. The banked money/monthly deposit for subsequent extensions for this visa is also lower than the retirement visa option I believe.

"Retirement Visa" - you can purchase a Multi Re entry Permit add on to your Visa.

I agree, (y) I think you used up all your "freebie" entries and are gonna get denied entry sooner rather than later if you keep playing the "enter on a 30 day visa exempt stamp game".

Doesn't matter what you did before, it's not like it used to be

That O-A visa is good for a year from the date it's issued, is good for unlimited entries for the year's validity and you get stamped in for a whole year every entry.

It's ONLY available from 4 consulates in the US (Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington DC.

Most all of them accept mail in applications.

Here are the requirements for getting that O-A visa from the thai consulate in Los Angeles.

Get a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O-A visa from the thai consulate in the US BEFORE you come back here.

@Rob ************
, you get the O-A visa from the country your thai passport comes from, or a country you legally live and work in (so unless you legally live and work in lao, nope)
