I know what you are saying and that's the exact reason I went to immigration to get an extension. Once there they all but refused to give me an extension for 2 days overstay and even gave me paperwork to keep as I just wanted an extension that is official print out that lists what effect each length of over stay has in future entry. I have that paperwork somewhere as I kept it in case I was refused re entry this year which I wasn't. The bloke at immigration was extremely clear and spoke very good english and was adamant it would in no way affect me getting a visa to live in Thailand. I always do things by the book so made sure and asked him many times if was o.k.
If you are over staying only 2 days just pay the fine on leaving. I went to the Chiang Mia immigration office to extend for the exact same reason. The nice helper said to me why pay 1900 thb ? for an extension when I could pay 1000 thb for 2 days overstay. He even gave me paper work saying what happens for how many days you overstay and basically up to 90 days you don't get banned then 90 - 120 I think was a years ban and it goes up from there.
This may be an easy option. Fly in get 60 days on arrival then extend 30 days = 90 days. Fly to a neighboring country at 90 days then fly back to Thailand and repeat. 6 months this way ?
in life you run into people that have issues. It pays to ignore them. If it's any consultation they are usually people who have a very low opinion of themselves. Please stay and know you are supported.
