@Pete ******
Please show me the official link where I can read DTV holders are exempted from entry checks like all other foreigners entering the country.

I asked MFA if requirements are for the whole five years and they confirmed this.

But I guess Pete Power has the power to know better than Thai officials who created the visa.

You can keep believing your own truth, but nowhere there is anything that exempts DTV from regular checks.

You can get a bank account when you get a visa that matches your purpose of stay

What makes you think Thailand is very third world? I think development in Thailand is not below that of UK.

Anonieme deelnemer 350 Nobody can tell ehat will happen, but since you choose to not be a resident that lives in Thailand anymore, but just a tourist that spends some periods in Thailand, you should not be surprised you cannot keep the bank account.

Moving to Thailand on a DTV, are you sure you applied for the correct visa? DTV is not meant to live in Thailand.

Besides that, even when you do want to live in Thailand you are better of buying that stuff just new.

Show me the document that tourist visa are exempted from entrance checks and requirements. For any visa the IO can check if your purpose of stay matches with the visa type. DTV has perfectly described purposes of stay, and holiday and beach towel is not one of them, I hardly can believe you don't know any better. You must have read the visa requirements for DTV somewhere by now and I am sure nobody who only says I want to have holiday in Thailand will get approved for DTV.

Can you read? I highly doubt it because I now said more than once I am not talking about a specific type of visa, so I am not confusing any type as visa as you keep saying like a dumb machine.

The discussion about what type of visa DTV is has nothing at all to do with general rules about entrance in the country with a visa, they are just for ALL visa.

BTW, Google AI thinks DTV is not a tourist visa, so for all here who think Google AI is always right a good lesson.

I not answer irrelevant questions that are off topic here, if you want an answer, open a topic for it, but I have you seen giving an answer to your own question several times, so I guess you are just playing a trolling game here.

@Sean ******
I think you can find out that yourself, and it has nothing to do with this discussion.

If you seriously not know this, maybe open a new topic with this question.

I am not confusing any visa, in fact I am not talking about any specific visa. One of the tasks of an IO is to check if foreigners entering the country have the correct visa matching with their purpose of stay. DTV is not an exception on this general rule and is checked just like any other visa. Nowhere is stated you are on holiday when having a DTV, in fact there are very detailed descriptions in the visa requirements, and just on holiday is not one of them. Where did you read that nonsense?
