correct. Opened bank acc, got regular Visa card first, got platinum card by mail. All on T-visa being non-resident. Took me 24 hours.

Used a service of the guy from this group who got his account shut during Pattaya Bangkok bank crackdown and started an agency there.

USD. The whole country is pegged to USD. Even cash which is used within the country is USD.

I use them as they allow SWIFT transfers, issue a proper platinum Visa card that works everywhere, have a Thai QR and can be used for P2P crypto.

BTW leading banks there are owned by Canadian, Japanese, Taiwanese, French, South Korean and Singaporean banking groups. And those guys are no ignorant fools at all.

All big shops, and legally registered entities accept QR payment from overseas banks.

Cash is king if you are an expat in Thailand, live on DTV and shop at the local market. Welcome to the new reality.

Get an agent, set up a bank account in the neighboring cambodia which allows Thai QR. Get Wise installed. Use cash for small payments.

Search the group for answers and recommendations.

TagThai is total rubbish, don’t bother using that crap.
