sounds great! What's the deal with the intensity of being tested by immigration as to whether you are actually grasping the language? Does the consulate really test you to make sure you are actually learning the language?

where do I get a police check from? I live in Newark Jersey. So do I just go down to the local police and ask them for a background check on me?

great info thanks..if we were to go this route with the ED visa, after the 1 year is up or before would I be able to teach in thailand if I got hired by a school?
