I suggest opening a Wise account. You can transfer money from your Australian bank to Wise easily and quickly and make payments in Thailand from Wise. Safer than carrying cash.

Also please clarify the amounts you quote - you use the $ sign but also say baht. Which is it - $ or baht

it’s caused by people abusing the system. It’s not killing the tourist trade because most tourists stay less than 30 days. It’s killing the opportunities for people like the OP, who was obviously not a tourist, to disrespect the Thai governments rules.

if you didn’t even look at the paperwork the agent prepared then you are not ready for DTV. You need to know what the basis is for your application - is it workation, is it soft power? The information you give is so little that I don’t think anyone can really help
