Please book a fully refundable ticket which may cost more but still be better than losing it all in case Visa doesn’t come in time. You don’t need a round trip ticket for DTV

Unfortunately, you have been scammed by your fellow countryman. If you know his native place in Nepal, you can find his family and pressurize them to get your money back. For now, cut your losses and don’t send any new money.

If only insurance is being asked, I would presume that they have accepted that your income is over $80K. Once you submit the insurance, qualification endorsement will take about 10 business days

, $100K has to be in a savings account with a Bank for 12 months. Any other form of asset even if fully liquid is not accepted. Getting an insurance policy with maximum deductible wasn’t expensive. I paid less than $200 for it and it resolved the issue.
