Tod is a very helpful person and excellent company. Contrary to the last part of this post, he's not an asshole in real life at all!

Or if he is, then I must be one as well and that's just, well, downright impossible! ;)

Their policy now is to point you towards the Non-Imm OA retirement visa. Not always what people want. Often people prefer to apply for the extension based on retirement (from a Non-Imm O) in Thailand itself. Plus they can be quite rude, and unhelpful if the day has a 'Y' in it. :)

@Da***
those are embassies, and consulates, of OTHER COUNTRIES in the UK. Embassies are places that represent the governments of countries abroad, to those countries

The UK government is itself based in the UK (mainly for logistical reasons) and therefore feels that it doesn't need an embassy in the UK to represent itself, to itself.

Yep. Just going off what they told me at the Embassy. That they can delay the date of issue if you ask them to. Maybe not everywhere, but that's what they told me in London :)
Biff *******
In the London Embassy, you can ask for the start date of the visa to be delayed, up to three months.

Some embassies and consulates will also accept postal applications. Check on their website for more details.

You can ask for the start date to be up to three months later than the day you apply for the visa.

He got the SETV. Unless I misread the "I got the SETV" part?
Biff *******
Probably because they're all the way in Australia and who would go all the way there just to get one?
Biff *******
Unless you're resident in VN, right?
