TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires whether a certificate from the UK embassy verifying their state pension can be used for their retirement visa application in Thailand rather than obtaining documentation from the Bangkok embassy. Comments clarify that a UK state pension can be applied for an O-A visa directly in London, while private pensions require extra documentation. Moreover, it is emphasized that only specific income verification documents issued by the UK consulate in Thailand will be accepted for immigration purposes.

I'm not entirely sure what type of pension you are referring too? If your in receipt of a state pension of being 65 years old or older, simply apply for an O-A visa in London on that basis. The UK is the only country that will issue this type visa on that basis and only applies to UK citizens. If your applying on the basis of being over 50 years of age but under 65 and not drawing a state but private pension, you will also need written proof of income from your pension provider. Signing a declaration only doesn't work for UK citizens and won't be accepted.

You will have a yearly pension advice from Min of Pensions - that will do.and it's free.
It is proof of a pension - there is no financial limit.

You can't use that letter from the Ministry of Pensions to show income from abroad at the immigration office to meet the financial requirement of 65K baht a month. You can only use the affidavit of income notary from the link I provided.

You use this website to get the verification of income from abroad notarized document from the UK consulate in thailand.
It is the ONLY document the thai immigration office will accept for proof of income from abroad. They do it ONLY by mail or email. You cannot walk up and get it from the consulate here
If your in the uk , why not apply at the Thai embassy , London , easy, I did mine there 5 years ago . Go to their web site and follow the requirements.

Their policy now is to point you towards the Non-Imm OA retirement visa. Not always what people want. Often people prefer to apply for the extension based on retirement (from a Non-Imm O) in Thailand itself. Plus they can be quite rude, and unhelpful if the day has a 'Y' in it. :)
those are embassies, and consulates, of OTHER COUNTRIES in the UK. Embassies are places that represent the governments of countries abroad, to those countries
The UK government is itself based in the UK (mainly for logistical reasons) and therefore feels that it doesn't need an embassy in the UK to represent itself, to itself.

I realise that but you can get a signed letter stating your income from pension. Ie same as you would if you applied in uk for visa.
