Get the sofa recovered and use up the deposit on rental weeks , it's a shit fight trying to get your money back but you never no but sounds like you no your landlord is tight arse 😁

Gotta love family . There is no cheap lawyers in Australia you get what you pay for if you go cheap you get lack of experience and resources.

All lawyers are blood suckers but if you use a firm they are reasonably up front.
