Thank you for your reply. Do you happen to know where are they accepting beyond the 1 year for ED visa? I'm currently in Huahin, so the rule here is obvious
that is incorrect. Opening a bank account costs 1000 baht (500 + 500). I went there with a certificate of residency. Asked for the BS "insurance". I said no, then they said OK, then have my bank send a "good standing account" message via the SWIFT communicating system. Told my bank about it, never heard of such a thing
Thank you. I'm trying to find information on their website, but besides the downloadable application form, I was not able to find any current requirements
I recently wanted to go and get a TR from Vientiane, and I discussed with one of the most reputable agents from Pattaya (she also used to work in the system for many years, and has direct connections everywhere). The lady (the agent) organizes the trip, and she insisted that you need a Thai bank account with 25.000b, stamped bank book, and bank statement from the same day as the day you apply. I though it was not a good choice, so I dropped the ideas and went elsewhere
Yes, that's what the secretary said too, that the flight ticket should be to and from my original country. However, my friend and his partner were accepted without issues, with no direct plane ticket inbound or outbound to Thailand. They went from Dubai to Bali, from there to Phuket, and outbound back to Dubai. The original homecountry (Romania) is not in the itinerary at all
Actually that's incorrect, I've just spoken to the secretary from the embassy from my country: I can apply, but there is a chance that they might ask to see me in person at the embassy, which I obviously can't. A friend of mine from Romania applied a few days ago while being in Dubai, and a few days later he received it, but he doesn't have any covid extension stamps, so it's a different situation
Jim's shop is closed. I've talked with several others, they all say it's not guaranteed, and even if you work with an agent, you still have to be there în person
