I was interviewed and questioned on it but absolutely no problem, but I could also backup where the money came from. If your “friend” was working illegally and making money in Thailand, it might be a different story.

You really really don’t need an agent. Just take a lands trip to like Vietnam or Cambodia or something and apply it’s not that hard. If they ask for extra, provide that information.
