The 12 month Non-O Extension of Stay is based on marriage as that is what the Non-O was originally issued for and the reason you put on the TM7 to apply. There is no "Visiting Thai Spouse" extension but there is a "Visiting Thai Family" extension.
Indeed, if he had 800k last year he was well and truly robbed paying an agent 70k. That is the absolute top end of what agents charge for providing the proof of 800k for the extension.
If you didn't have the 800k for your first 12 month extension is is likely that you cannot do the second year as you didn't meet the requirements for the first. You'd then have to leave and either get your Non-O from an Embassy or re-enter and get your Non-O in country. You may need a border bounce agency if you return on Visa Exempt and your first extension was not 100% genuine. You can no longer stay in Thailand on back to back Visa Exempt entries and extensions.
