Start a new life I'd recommend. Find out what you truly need. Thailand is incredibly cheaper, and you can find almost everything you need on Lazada, if not in the many local stores. And did I mention stuff was cheap? I just ordered a new toilet part for $1 on lazada, free shipping. The same exact piece on eBay in America was $20.
I use Safety Wing, but they sent me an email this morning, canceling my plan at the end of the month, and updated their policy which has a lot more exclusions. I read through it today. The price was raised to $
lol, immigration at a certain border told me I needed to pay them to enter, or I have to get married. Now my local amphur is telling me they don't know how to do foreigner marriages, and for me to wait a few months..
Is crazy when you deal with some people that can't think. I moved to a new town in Florida to start a new life, and most places require a 1 year lease. A few landlords said because I did not have a job yet, I could not be trusted to pay the rent. I told them I can pay a year's rent UPFRONT in full if they want... They told me I can't... 🙃
I've spent over a year and a half in Hat Yai going to so many festivals, temples, night markets, and celebrations. Absolutely no issues. I've only spent a little time in Yala. It didn't feel as welcoming, but no issues. I did notice a higher military presence
There is a spot in southern Thailand near Wat Khao Rup Chang. There is a cave and an isolated temple closer to the border that you need to go far far back through a rubber plantation to find. There are a few dogs that bark, and monk that will look at you and wonder how you found his temple. If you take a left at the fork when you see the temple, it will take you straight through another rubber plantation. At the back of this, you will find the border wall to Malaysia. It's not guarded. Only 8ft and barbed wire on top. If you hop over this wall, and never return, it will fix your THAILAND overstay problems.
I use GRAB almost 100% of the time. If I need to go somewhere I check the app first and it almost always beats the prices the taxi bike drivers give me. It's also much safer because you have the drivers info, and your location is logged, and you don't have to use your phone to give them directions. They know the price they accepted so normally no issues. Just double check the license plate.
