My friend on ED visa says it's a pain. She's been called randomly to immigration for reporting. Sometimes it's 1 month, sometimes 2 months and every time its 1900B. And it's all the way to CW in person.

but you can terminate a time deposit any time. Just lose the interest that's all. It's still considered usable funds no?

thanks. Where is your immigration office as I understand that they all are different in requirements? What do you show to immigration ? Letter from the bank?
