You can just pay. No need to go to the office no need any extra docs.

In case you miss the due date, you have to go to your district office.

We purchased a condo in 2000 using as second house, then my husband turned 50, we applied Retirement O.

Now we have LTR (retirement)

If your husband has enough passive income, LTR for pensioners would do.

He can add up to three family member on his visa.

Do you need a US social security number to open a bank account in Thailand?

Yes. Cuz you have to disclose your Thai account to IRS.

This is bilateral agreement between US and Thailand.
