You can buy cheap new phones (alternative brands) in Thailand, but that’s not what you want is it? I think you want a decent second hand iPhone, which will generally be more expensive in Thailand. Better to pick one up on facebook marketplace before you set off.

Good luck Mike. Don’t listen to the ‘nay sayers’. I have my Thai wife here in UK with me now and could not be any happier 😊

Incidentally we did all the visa applications ourselves (tourist first then spouse) and had a few rejections but got there in the end. Don’t give up!
