interesting John

When I left Canada my accountant told me I needed to sever all ties with Canada and my pensions are paid tax free in Canada but declared in the UK.

Perhaps you're getting 3 UK and Cdn tax allowance which I'm told you cannot do.

My accountant specialises in Canada / UK taxation, if he's got it wrong I'd live the evidence so I can reclaim £££

I pay over £5,500 in UK for my Cdn pensions plus my normal taxing the UK on all income above £12,000.

interesting John

Did you declare them to HMRC or do you pay tax on them in Canada?

@Paul *******
sure sale of sole residences not taxable. However if you have any income of pensions >£40 k plus state pension that is taxable.

Atm only £20k p/a can be put in Isa, most investement trusts pay more than an isa, after the first £1,000 interest p/a thats taxable too.

So leaving the UK doesnt save me a penny in tax.

I have a Canadian pe sion too which never enters the uk yet the HMRC tax that too!

@Paul *******
you still pay taxes on your UK income e even though you live in Thailand.

BTW I followed exact same route as you and have now left the UK and don't miss it at all.

now you're wondering why you got involved in a conversation that you're too immature to understand.

Never mind, you can always post another cat picture.

Please could you show me the Thai Statutory law they states a legal document issued by the Land Office is in fact contrary to Thai Statutory law as you put it.

but it didn’t say that! Why do you jump to assumptions?

I actually used Chavalitt and Co in Hua Hin who are one of the top lawyers and none of your doom and gloom scenarios have played out.

Please try sticking to facts not jungle drum gossip.
