I don’t remember them asking for a visa as the IO provided me a letter addressed to the bank - your point could be true elsewhere though. I opened mine with Keungsri in Pattaya

The bank didn’t ask me any questions, neither did IO. I wonder if everyone else actually tried this route or just walked into the bank without any paperwork? I failed at 4 banks until a kind bank teller sat with me for a couple of mins and explained that I needed a cert of residence, from that point onwards it was very straight forward.

worked for me 3 weeks ago, zero questions by either IO or Krungsri bank, don’t have to pay any insurance either

Krungsri in Pattaya. I sat down and spoke to a bank teller who told me I needed a cert of residence. I got that (no questions asked) and went back to the bank a few days later and opened an account (no questions asked)

I opened an account with Krungsri in Pattaya 3 weeks ago. Guess I was lucky with both IO and the bank asking me zero questions - just my experience. 🤷‍♂️
