Hi 👋 Sorry, it’s me again. I just wanted to check on re-entry permits in light of what Martin has said above and the unfortunate timing of my stamp date.

First, I guess I can’t apply for a permit until my visa extension has been approved?

Second, to avoid my passport getting stuck in Samui immigration over the Queen Mothers two day holiday, is it easy and usual to get a re entry permit at the airport on my way out?

It so happens that 8 August is a Friday and it is the Queen Mother’s birthday on the Monday, plus they just added another holiday to that making it 2 days. I feel like I’m never going to get out of here!

Maybe I should book flights for the weekend and try to do my re-entry permit in Bangkok at the airport. I guess that’s a whole new post.

I’m trying to get back to the UK to coincide with a visit from my Dad who has already booked tickets from Spain.

I’ve already booked flights that are incompatible with the stamp so I was upset. I’ve been working on this since January- when I started the process of UK passports for me, with a name change and my Thai/ British daughter. It’s been six years since we made it back to the UK because covid put a spanner in the works. I feel like I’m on my last legs with it. My dad has already booked flights from Spain to the UK and he’s probably going to need to change his too. It’s all a bit of a rum do! 🫠 It’s reassuring to hear that there shouldn’t be any more holds ups. I am going to go back to immigration in the morning just to be sure. Thanks for lightening the load of this process.

thank you for your input. Just to clarify - you didn’t always get your stamp on the same day? So it is better for me to book flights for a week after the 8 August? I am pressing about this because my dad has already booked tickets from Spain to see me in the UK so I need to get flights as close to 8 August as possible so we don’t miss each other.
