He was simply responding (quite rationally) to my point about it potentially being related to visa waiver, in which case a return or onward ticket MIGHT be required, even if he has a pending DTV application. The airline wouldn't know about any DTV.

Do you have a passport from a country that has a visa waiver with Thailand? If so, that might explain why they don't need to see any visa.

Hundreds have. Soon, thousands. You can stay permanently, other than perhaps a day or two per year. But - careful of potential local tax regulations, if you're in the country more than you're not. Usual thing.

Unless you're in Thailand for 180+ days in a year, in which case your tax resident in Thailand, and tax is due there. Depending on the DTA with your home country, you may or may not also need to pay tax there as well.

How come when I ask about whether the DTV visa can be transferred to a renewed passport (a pretty relevant question, given the group), the admin deletes my question? Three times now, and I've never had an answer because of it.
