Anonymous participant some have been lucky and able to keep their old visa while applying, but it technically isn’t allowed and someone today who went to Vietnam was turned down because they still had a valid visa
John *******
Anonymous participant then you have no visa

Marriage in your own country is fine, as long as it is recognized by Thailand (gay marriage not yet recognized, but will be in Jan)

- ah, did your search also show you that in Feb it was announced that they would be opening a new consulate in Siem Reap? I think your google search doesn’t give you all the needed information, hence why people ask on this page. Where did you get your DTV?
John *******
Anonymous participant - if concerned, just wait for the DTV

Anonymous participant - Oh, US-based embassies are notorious for being long. They say you are supposed to wait a month. They might not come back and ask for proof that you are still there though. That tends to be the consulates located close to Thailand.

most of the responses to questions on this page can be answered via internet. But curious, what did you google?

Anonymous participant it is hard to tell. If the consulate has any concerns with the documents, they will request more. Maybe bring additional documents related to the organization she works for. Any thing to show it is legit company. Has she received any pay yet? Again, these are not “required” but might be asked if they have concern/questions. Now a few points in your post don’t make sense - you said she was told she can’t come in on any more short visas but you just said she was on a 1 year visa, which isn’t short. What do you mean when you say she didn’t have right to work? Why not?
