confirmed, I had no problem with visa - if you initially say you intend to stay 90 days it directs you to apply for a 60 day visa and there is even a pop up telling you that you can apply for a 30 extension.

I had no problem checking in at Manchester.

To be on the safe side I would take a screen shot of the actual visa application to show at check in.

There is anecdotal evidence however in the US airlines have demanded a return within 60 days.

yes Immigration have no need to check as the airline who have to pay your repatriation costs if you are refused entry do this pre departure. ps even if you check in online with hand carry pre covid they have someone at the gate checking you have the necessary visas etc

My language school say turn up and apply whilst here.

Or get a 60 day visa, extend 30 days and bring out either the linguist in you and sign up for 8 hours a week for a learn to speak Thai course or bring out your cullinary skills and do a cookery course and obtain an education visa.

PS it is not a return that is needed but proof of onward travel POOT so a one way to say KL or a ticket where you loan a POOT can be used if they insist

when I applied for a visa I was asked how long my stay was and I entered 89 days and was then advised to apply for a 60 day visa, there was on the same page notification that the visa could be e tended to 90 days. I uploaded a 89 day return. Visa granted. COE applied for, granted.

Completing a visa application involves submitting 5 things you dont submit in the TO application and then docs you need to forward to the hotel on booking. The 5 are a copy of your passport, two selfies, a bank statement and a photo of a signed downloaded declaration. No passport or documents are sent off.

If you know how to upload photos its a walk in the park. The plus side is you dont have to travel to attend the Immigration Office, obtain copes of your entry stamps.

Perhaps people who do get a visa waiver can reassure us post November 1st that they have no problems either with the TP, at check in and on arrival.

Bangkok Post today "With the Nov 1 reopening looming, Bangkok is preparing protocols for testing tourists outside the airport, at hotels or 'swab hubs' to avoid congestion on arrival.

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) deputy governor for domestic marketing, said swab tests for travellers will be conducted outside the airport to disperse the flow of tourists with travellers transferred via hotel limousines to SHA Plus hotels which have partner hospitals or swab hubs.

Swab hubs, organised by the Thai Hotels Association (THA), will be established as a centres for small hotels which could be places like hospitals or alternative quarantine facilities.

While waiting for the result, all arrivals are required to stay in their hotel room during the first night.

Ms Thapanee said over 300 hotels are waiting for SHA Plus approval which should be ready by the end of this week."

I am in a similar situation but will be booking on Etihad who not only are one of the cheapest but allow free change of date after departure but if the new return date ticket is more expensive you have to pay more and - e.g. you want a return date the next week or on a saturday or instead of being on the 30th November you want to return on January 5th.
