Primary tasks: check paperwork is in order for what a person is trying to do, advise people what can be done at immigration, hand out the queue numbers. answer immigration questions people may have, inform immigration officers about problems customers are having, inform customers about changes in requirements/procedures. Really, an invaluable service. Collectively they speak 9 languages: Thai, English, German, Dutch, Flemish, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese.

I guess some offices don't have immigration volunteers, but as long as I've been using Phuket Immigration Office (8 years) they've been there. Very helpful in person as well as the website they've put together. A little about what they do:

Typically 90 day reports are only expected from people staying on a long-term extension (greater than 90 days). None of the extensions you have received is over 90 days and therefore you are exempt from that requirement. If your immigration office agrees, of course. And yours seems to. ;-)

The previous comments are still there. I can see them on my computer. Sometimes I can't on a smartphone, don't know why, probably a facebook bug.

You'll need two things from your bank. A bank letter that identifies you as the owner of the account, which is easy to get since banks are quite used to producing it for customers, about 100 baht. A 3-month bank statement stamped/signed by the bank. You should only need 2 months but 3 months is the same cost so won't hurt (another 100 baht or so depending on bank). You then have to have 800k minimum balance in the account for 2 months before application, same for 3 months after application, and not less than 400k for the rest of the year. Note that for your extension next year will need a 12-month bank statement so that immigration can verify that you complied with the minimum balance requirements.

I see nothing wrong with your plan. You are getting good use out of your Non-OA visa (following the advice of Bobby Howard above, especially as regards the health insurance).

Just thought I'd share my experience. Apparently, it also happened to the OP as well. ;-)

90-Day Reports and extensions are not related, I agree. However, if every time you get an extension of stay immigration staples a new 90-Day Report Receipt/Next Appointment Date into your passport you can be forgiven for thinking they sort of are. I don't know if this goes on at other immigration offices but it's been going on for 8 years in Phuket. ;-)

In my experience of 8 years in Phuket this is not true. When I apply for a retirement extension my passport comes back with the retirement extension stamp and a new 90-Day Report Receipt/Next Appointment Notice. I honestly can't remember this not happening. They don't discuss it, ask me if that's what I want. It just happens. I notice it when I check my passport after having it returned to me. I can't say whether this happens at other immigration offices or not.
