thanks mate. I’ll keep that one up my sleeve.

What caught us out was when we went to our local immigration office when in Thailand in October, the immigration receptionist said I can get the visa requirement in 7 days but we were leaving in 6. She said just do it when you come back. Great!

Since I’ve been finding out more, it all depends on whether the immigration officer in front of you is having a good or a bad day.

Xmas day, I find out about non o. What a day that turned into. 555.

I think I’m there with the e-visa angle but what you said above might have been what the immigration receptionist was referring to.

Thanks people. I really appreciate your input.

I think I’ve finally got my game together with the e-visa in Aus. I think I have enough days until I fly for processing on “staying with Thai family 60 plus days” I married Thai years & years ago. Thai e-visa stated a processing time of 5-10 days.

Thanks again 🙏🇹🇭

I only found out today about non o & have a ticket booked for 17 Jan with my Thai wife from Australia together. Big oversight.

I’m worried I won’t have time to get the visa before we fly.

I hear I can go to a neighbouring country to apply for the non o rather than come back to Australia or fly to Canberra in person before we fly.

Other option I have seen is to go to a neighbouring country & apply from there.

Thanks all for your input.

do I need a non o to open a bank account. I have read that I can open a savings account on a tourist visa.
