The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is one visa type, but it has different categories (purposes of visit).

According to official Thai Embassy information, the DTV can be issued for three categories:

DTV1 – Workcation (digital nomads, remote workers, freelancers).

DTV2 – Thai soft power activities (Muay Thai, Thai cooking, medical treatment, etc.).

DTV3 – Dependents (spouse and children under 20 of a DTV holder).

These are not separate visas, but categories within the same DTV visa, which is a 5-year multiple-entry visa.

The numbers (DTV1, DTV2, DTV3) are simply internal labels used by embassies to show different purposes and document requirements, not different visa types.

A long-stay visa designed for people who want to stay in Thailand for remote work, learning Thai cultural activities, or accompanying a DTV holder.

Purpose of Visit Options

Spouse and children under 20 years old of DTV visa holders

For family members of a person who already has a DTV visa.

Includes legal spouse and children under 20 years old.

They apply as dependents.

Thai soft power-related activities

For people coming to Thailand to participate in cultural or professional programs connected with Thai culture.

Examples include:

Muay Thai training

Thai cooking schools

Wellness programs

Medical treatment

Cultural education or workshops

Workcation (digital nomad / remote worker / freelancer)

For people who work remotely for companies or clients outside Thailand.

Includes:

Digital nomads

Freelancers

Remote employees

Foreign talent working online

Maybe this happening because for officials it's one type of visa. And Soft Power it's more easy still to apply, but still almost 80% who becomes our students it's digital nomads who working online as programmers, influencers, marketing managers, freelancers ets.

If work online not allowed for Soft Power DTV purpose of visit why nowadays Thai Embassies requests from all our students to proof them online work outside of Thailand and this is became mandatory.

this is just remarks of specific Thai Embassy for easy understanding nothing more than this.

We can share 3 DTV visas granted under different purpose of visit, and if anyone proof difference and guess correctly which one is for which purpose of visit we will provide for free as complimentary our Thai Cooking Class tour at our sea farm in Phuket ; ) because eVisa and entry stamp completely are same for all purpose because it's one visa only, but with different purpose of entry.
