Retirement (90 Day Non-O / 1 Year Extension)
People can apply for a retirement extension if they are 50 years old or above and fulfill the required criteria.
Initial Non-O 90 Day extra Requirements
- 15 days left on current stamp
- Rental contract or proof of ownership if applicant owns their residence
- Copy of Owner’s ID
- Copy of Owner’s House Book
- Copy of Owner’s Chanote (Front and backside)
- If using bank balance option for financial proof, money must be deposited for a minimum of 1 day prior to application date (bank documents must be issued by the bank on the same day as application date)
One Year Extension Requirements
- Valid Non-O or Non-OA visa without overstay or a valid extension, Note 1
- If using bank balance option for financial proof, money must be deposited for a minimum of 2 months prior to application date
Required papers:
- TM7 (already have a Non-O or Non-OA) OR TM86 (have an existing visa, other than Non-O or Non-OA) OR TM87 (currently visa exempt)
- STM2
- STM9 Overstay Acknowledgement
- STM11 Consent of fact checking
Copies from following passport pages:
- Detail page
- Current visa/extension
- All extensions from last Non-O or Non-OA visa or transfer stamp to new passport. (If applicable)
- Last entry stamp (No re-entry)
- TM6 departure card (If applicable)
Passport size picture.
An up-to-date address registration (TM30)
Map to residence. (Must include Latitude and Longitude coordinates or have a separate sheet with this information using Google maps).
Picture of applicant in front of the house with house number clearly visible.
Proof of financial status :
Bank balance option:
Minimum of 800,000 Baht in a Thai bank account (in your own name) for a minimum of 1 day (when applying for Non-O) or a minimum of 2 months (when applying for 1 year extension) before the application date. Note 2
Signed and stamped bank letter showing the required funds (same day for Non-O; maximum 7 days old for 1 year extension)
Signed and stamped bank statement showing the required funds (must show 12 months of transactions for the 1 year extension) Note 3 (same day for Non-O; maximum 7 days old for 1 year extension)
Both bank papers for the 1 year extension ( bank Statement, Bank certificate) needs to have the same balance mentioned.
Copy of Thai bank book name page
Copy of last 12 months of transactions in bank book (make a small transaction prior to updating your bank book to show the transaction on the application date).
NOTE: AFTER THE APPROVAL DATE A MINIMUM OF 800,000 BAHT MUST BE MAINTAINED FOR AT LEAST 3 MONTHS AND THEN A MINIMUM OF 400,000 BAHT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR AND THEN BACK UP TO 800,000 BAHT FOR 2 MONTHS PRIOR TO YOUR NEXT APPLICATION. THIS WILL BE CHECKED WHEN YOU APPLY FOR YOUR NEXT EXTENSION.
