Can I switch from a marriage visa to a DTV visa, and do I need to cancel the marriage visa first?

The DTV visa must be obtained outside of Thailand. If you don't have a "Re-Entry" permit, your Family visa will be canceled as soon as you leave Thailand. You can therefore obtain the DTV visa from the Thai embassy in Vietnam, Cambodian, Malaysia, etc... I used this agency it's super responsive and offers good value for money.
