Maybe my current difficult predicament is souring my opinion a bit ... I do know I prefer Penang to KL. I'm sure Langkawi would be good. The fat 90 day hassle free visa on arrival is useful ... The price of beer is not 😂. Though I think Langkawi duty free so it's half the price there.

Then you can ferry over to Thailand from Langkawi reasonably cheap. Koh lipe even ...

I've been in discussions with them .. I just fear a scenario of flying in and nobody being there .. Getting made to ship back to KL would be unbearable .

I would go to Vientiane first , but last time I made appointment online for Vientiane i didn't make it due to an unexpected visit. I forgot to cancel the appointment so I think I'm blocked now from making appointments
