Anyone from UK here had to get a Malaysian entry stamp put into a replacement passport after losing the old one. They won't do it without police report. The police won't give a report without a confirmation letter from embassy confirming old one cancelled and new one issued. High commission said they couldn't do it. Helpine directed me to phone a UK office who directed me to passport office who said they couldn't do and directed me to back to the UK number, this loop traveled several times. Who the hell am I supposed get this letter from . ๐Ÿซฃ

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK citizen is facing challenges obtaining a Malaysian entry stamp in a replacement passport after losing the original. They need a police report, but the police require a confirmation letter from the UK embassy, which claims it does not issue such letters. The user is engaged in a frustrating loop of being redirected between the embassy, passport office, and police, creating a significant delay in the process.

Didn't you need a stamp from immigration office transferring from old passport to new one?

This is the dilemma. Immigration say they won't do it without a police report , police say they won't give report without embassy letter, embassy say they do not make such a letter . Its weeks now. Tomorrow I just try go multiple police stations to get report . Starting to feel like I'm held prisoner , nightmare

Many times you can find a letter on the embassy website in that country. Does the UK embassy in Malaysia not have something like this you can use?

I'm surprised you got a replacement passport with no proof yours was lost. I thought proof was needed.

Correct .. I lost it changing trains along with phone. I knew within few minutes I had made the mistake and cancelled it immediately. I had no funds to move for a few days so walked to police station after 4 days and they would not do it without embo letter

reporting a lost phone to police is first step. Soon as lost. That's how my son did it.

Police were adamant I had to have a letter from the embassy before they would make a report , The embassy seemingly can not provide such a letter. Even more bizarre I saw someone who had to get a letter from the embassy stating the embassy did not make such a letter...

UK embassy/consulates are an abomination ...
