Correct for Australia, applying online. The online application tells you what is required. I did the same last year for a Non OX and no issues.

Mick, well put and thanks for the info / comparison. I am looking to retire early from Australia and move to Thailand. Yes partially because it is a lot cheaper than Aus and I can retire earlier. But also because I love the people, the culture, the food and the country! Give me a bowl of beef noodle soup from a little local Thai restaurant for 60 baht over a westernised thai restaurant for 120 baht any day!!

Sorry Colin, your guess is incorrect. Mine is a Non-OX. And I did not recommend any visa to him in my message just provided information regarding how I went about obtaining it and where he can get official information rather than Facebook information. What visa they can or can not afford is none of my business 🙂

Is this not an official Thai Visa webpage? Just asking as it is where I applied for my OX visa 3 months ago and am now in Thailand on that visa. However I have 5 years before I need to extend it so have not looked to see if extensions can be done through it yet.

Are you a gambling man? Do you have a Plan B if you get to the airport and get refused entry? If so, go right ahead. If not maybe speak to the Thai Embassy in your home country and take their advice not the advice of random strangers like me on FB.
