They completely dropped the ball with the accounts used by criminals and in their panic they blocked honest clients accounts invoking some imaginary rules like people whose visa expired and now are seeking new status are not allowed bank accounts.

I think they would have denied you boarding if you were of a nationality that needs to arrange a Cambodian visa before travelling.

If a war does start you might as well wipe your bum with the visa application as you will not be returning to Thailand anyway. Your best hope is that they solve the issue through the Joint Border Comission

compliance does not mean checking school attendance. Thats is left for immigration police who can later revoke your visa for not attending. The only thing the bank has to do is prevent financial crime.

When have banks in the US ever checked university attendance records for the foreign students who own bank accounts.

The banks should mind their business. This is starting to get ridiculous, unless immigration cancels your visa (the one which you opened a bank account with) what business does the bank have to check attendance at a Muay Thai school?
