Here's one for you. You say retirees who stay in Thailand over 180 days have income from overseas, like pensions they haven't paid tax on have to pay tax in Thailand. So what if you only receive a state pension (UK), that is below the tax threshold in the UK, therefore not taxable, in this scenario what would be any taxation in Thailand?
There probably asking because of the lack of the monetary requirements, or they are not restrained by money, so can pay an agent, rather than do it themselves.
Tod Daniels I've read by multiple commenters that the multiple entry 'O' visa is no longer available from any Thai Embassy, this comment seems to contradict that assumption.
I renewed several UK passports in Bangkok. As far as I remember the renewal doesn't ask for an address, only an address if you do it by post, for the return of new passport. I always went to the British Embassy in Bangkok, submitted the renewal form, paid the fee, then went back a couple of weeks later to pick up my new passport. They cut the corner off my old passport, which if you've got a Thai visa on it, you can go to Thailand immigration and get it transferred to your new passport for a fee.
You got that wrong. UN rules of seeking asylum, you do it in the first safe country you land in. You can't pick & choose. 90+% of these illegals aren't asylum seekers, their economic migrants and if you don't do it through legal means then your a criminal simple as that.
