What are the options for getting a visa extension in Patong, Thailand?
Anyone know of a good agent in the Patong area to help with a visa extension thanks
Answer summary
The thread discusses the possibility of hiring an agent for visa extension in Patong. Responses suggest that visa extensions are straightforward and can often be managed independently, involving simple paperwork. Some comments caution against using agents due to potential risks, including loss of visa if they handle things improperly. There is also mention of alternatives like the elite visa for those not constrained by finances.

Do it yourself, it's a form with about 10 things to fill in, some photocopies of your passport etc, your bank stuff and takes a few minutes.

There probably asking because of the lack of the monetary requirements, or they are not restrained by money, so can pay an agent, rather than do it themselves.Stuart ***********

possibly so and they probably don't realise that if the immigration officer accepting the bribe is prosecuted, they will lose their visa and have to start from the beginning (yes this does happen, a guy was complaining last week that his had been revoked for this reason. He blamed the IO instead of his naivety in using an agent). If he's not restrained financially he can obtain the elite visa instead.John ********

it is what it is hahaha. Every expat must accept that IOs seem to accept the bribe from what the agent offers.John ********

god some expats have blinkered eyes, agents make part of their living from servicing visa extensions.Stuart ***********

it only takes 1 and all of their illegal visas are cancelled. Imagine paying someone for something you could do yourself in 30 minutes and then ending up with no right to stay in Thailand 🤣John ********

Well there must be thousands of IO's in jail 😂

Extensions are very easy to do yourself.
