At the DTV promotion meetings I was at Friday they def mentioned recent lump sum deposits just to qualify for the financial requirement look suspicious to some Embassies. If someone does this I would say they should explain it in the cover letter.

Anonymous participant I have not seen any posts where anyone applying in the USA was asked to come in for an interview. Have a search here and maybe look on Reddit which tends to be more USA focused to check.

Not true. Even for tax residents Thailand has never taxed global income not remitted.
