I'm from New Delhi, India. Have been to Thailand for more than 7 times and I just love Thailand. I want to stay in Thailand for longer and planning to apply for DTV visa. I got money equivalent to much more then the needed money in my account but most of the money is in Fixed deposits. I do stock trading and online teaching. Should I apply for DTV in New Delhi on my own or should I do it through an agency in Thailand ? Will it be okay if I have money in fixed deposits? I would really appreciate if someone could answer my questions.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user from New Delhi, with multiple visits to Thailand, seeks advice on applying for a DTV visa, questioning whether to file in India or via an agency in Thailand, and whether having money primarily in fixed deposits is acceptable. Responses indicate that applying directly in India with liquid cash in a personal bank account is preferable, with many recommending against using fixed deposits for cash verification. Comments also discuss potential employment documentation and the importance of a verifiable income source.
You can apply from India like we did through Chennai consulate/embassy. However, you need to show liquid cash in a bank account. They want to see money you can access and spend when in Thailand. DM me if you need any help.
Or another option is going to Malaysia or Bali(visa free for indian passport holder) or Vietnam. Easy option but many have faced delay in approval. Risky but doable.
From recent post and reporting. One thing is very clear that rules are different in every embassy and also depend on immigration officer.
Some submitted 3 months statement in ML and got rejected and same embassy approved the visa with 3 months bank statement when there was a different IO.
I had read someone’s post in a different group. They had applied in Delhi under soft power and got rejected. Funds was not an issue for them, but employment was.
Yes, but rejections for soft power is increasing everywhere. I have seen many foreigners reporting rejection from Vietnam, Malaysia and other countries. Rules were easy and simple when they started but now soft power is getting difficult unless you register with legitimate business for Muay Thai, Gym or other services.
Thanks for the response.Okay, Can I apply through Delhi Consulate under Workcation category? If my monthly income is from my friend on weekly basis. But he isn't a registered employer. I can show bank statements of last six months for the proof.
if you can show over 12L in your account for over 2-3 at least. You can apply from Delhi. Monthly income and transaction in your account will support your employment not financial status.
You have to plus add a letter from employer granting you work from Thailand. It will help your application.
Note: employment documentation and financial documents are two different requirements for DTV. I have a business in US plus YouTube and I wrote myself a letter approving my workaction. My bank account had consistent balance over 500,000 baht every month. We live in Phuket now.
Not Cambodia at the moment. That was the advice given at 2 DTV promotion events on Friday in Chiang Mai. It was also hinted it is better to apply at home rather than travel to apply if possible. If someone already in Thailand for a while going locally makes sense. Travelling just to apply not so much.
No need for an agent if you follow the instructions which means money in a personal bank savings account Not fixed deposit not bitcoin not superannuated etc
You can’t apply for DTV in Thailand so do it from home
Thanks for the response. Does the money needs to be only in savings account even if the fixed deposits is easily accessible at anytime with some deductions? Considereding I can't show fixed deposit balance, Can I transfer the money which is short in savings account from my family's account to my account?
At the DTV promotion meetings I was at Friday they def mentioned recent lump sum deposits just to qualify for the financial requirement look suspicious to some Embassies. If someone does this I would say they should explain it in the cover letter.

Thanks For The Response. So, do I need to hire an agent. Or I can do it online by myself. I don't have any registered academy. I just started 1 and a half year ago. For the bank statement is fine. But can't show so much of regular and constant income. Would it still be okay?
The 500K THB needs to be in an immediately accessible personal account. If you are in ND then applying there yourself is best. Apply with your online teaching job. There should be posts in the threads from ND applicants
Thanks for the response. I don't have any registered academy or anything. I work for my friends academy who pay me every week. Will that be okay. And I can show some profit from my Zerodha Stock Broker's account. Would it be okay? Or its better to consider Thai Agent for soft power programs?
Oh you have to show employment via a registered company. You should do soft power then. Provide 6 months course information and do not apply at embassies like Taipei which request employer registration for SP applicants
Working for your friend is fine, you need to submit contract of employment, salary evidence etc. you can show your stock account as additional evidence of financial stability if you wanted. You don't need to use an agent for SP.
