one can be a “visa status resident” in few countries but does not need to become also a tax resident (usually by 180 days physical presence). Dual tax residencies can be very expensive to administer, not necessary in additional taxes once the dual tax agreements kick in.

10,000 baht deposit? Usually 500 or 1000 baht and never passport kept in my experience … are you renting a Rolls Royce of motorbikes (whatever that may be).

Is this the 72 hour visa for china? The condition is you are “in transit” from A to B. Cannot return to A.

You can “report yourself” at the closest immigration office within 24 hours of arrival. Do ensure the landlord is eventually able or willing to provide the blue book and the ID card details as you will certainly need this for long term visa extensions like TVR or Retirement. I am having problems as the managing agent cannot provide.

Sending £10,000 with Wise after fees: 451,132. Exchanging at Rich assuming no transaction fees as per rate above 451, 500. Is the 368 baht better outcome worth all the hassle of getting cash, carrying cash, exchanging cash and then depositing cash on the thai bank a/c with all the risks involved along the way?
