So it's your girlfriend of just over 8 weeks then really ? Just kidding of course. But don't tell any fibs on the application, that will go down like a shit sandwich.

perfect sense for me, just about to turn 44, 5 yr Elite will give me upto 6 years visa. If I still want to remain, I can consider retirement visa, and maybe others not currently available to me.

yes I'd be looking into reducing your possessions down to two large suit cases. Cut loose everything else, it's liberating. What on earth are you thinking of bringing ? Everything is very fairly priced here , just not imported goods. Furniture/decor, clothes, electricals.start again with nothing, buy only what you need,

so just a foreigner on a non O immigrant visa based on retirement. I think the nonsense you spout in your day job has gone to your head, sounding like you have a visa superior to everyone else's, we just know the limitations of them.

try it and see. Maybe its as I'm with my Thai Girlfriend, literally 8-10 in a row, as soon as she says, they drive off with the hump. With my ex, they'd sometimes say yes, then not do it, and she'd just get out while stationary, and insisted I leave the doors open.

because the first 35 taxis will drive off and sometimes you'll be happy to pay 100 baht, even 150, for a 60 baht taxi ride.

Cheap lessons learned. Quite a few. First time here ? To post about it too 😂

1) Always fix a price for anything.

2) Don't let a taxi driver (or anyone else) persuade you to go anywhere you hadn't already planned yourself.

3) Google translate has a microphone option, to transcribe conversations in foreign language.

4) Always check pricing, even if it seems cheap.

4 lessons I can think of....

You've got off lightly, now tighten your act......👍
