Hi

Can anyone give me the heads up of the hurdles to get my Thai GF of 2.5 years a Visa for 3 mths to visit UK in Sept this year? What do I need to prove if anything? I've been In Thailand with her twice for 4 week stays since Dec 21 and able to prove a relationship since 2019 and can support her in UK.

Have no idea where to start other than the process of start applying but be great to have the heads up of what we might need to produce so have it ready.

Many thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To help obtain a 3-month UK visa for your Thai girlfriend, you need to focus on proving the genuineness of your relationship and her ties to Thailand. Essential documents could include her bank statements, proof of employment, family details, and evidence of property ownership. It's recommended to provide your own bank statements and proof that you can support her financially during her stay. An invitation letter and a detailed visit itinerary might also be necessary. Engaging a visa agent could simplify the process, but it is possible to apply without one by gathering the necessary documentation and completing the visa application form.

So it's your girlfriend of just over 8 weeks then really ? Just kidding of course. But don't tell any fibs on the application, that will go down like a shit sandwich.

β€˜very easy’ and β€˜33 pages’ seems incredibly incongruous

I encourage you to start fill out the application form first and you will know what kind of documents you need to provide to the embassy. I think you’ll need an invitation letter and prove of sponsorship. If she travels a lot to other countries they will consider her a frequent traveler and it will help as well.

nice tips overhere. Although I am from the Netherlands (Schengen), I think it's the same for every country; they want to be sure she goes back to Thailand after 90 days. I also wrote a letter in which I said I would take care of her and also would take care of her return. With my phone number and that they (Embassy, now also VSB Global) could phone me

...

Then, I also needed a Thai healthcare insurance for her and a stamped certificate of guarantee by my municipal office of my income and gave her place to sleep in my home. But long time ago and UK not schengen. I started the same like you by asking and gathering info. Even got the tip that she must dress appropiate when going for the application πŸ˜‰ I did everything myself. An agent will normaly ask you the same proof and papers. Good luck !!

Set up the visa application and you can then see all the questions and things required. You can go in and out as you like until you submit

30k thb? not worth it. A UK tourist visa application is pretty straight forward. All agents do is collect your personal information, which you have to provide anyway.

@Rogerio *****
so have you actually done it yourself

With my lady, she provided statement of service from her employer, details of salary, length of service, bank statements, deeds of ownership of house and land, and that did the trick. She also had two previous visas to Australia which I sponsored going back about 4-5 years, so she included those details too. It was a breeze, no problem at all.

She needs to show she has a good reason to return to Thailand. A job (not bar girl) that pays regularly into her bank and with a contract of possible. Land in her name, a car, dependents like children or parents. Some money in the bank so if you two argue while she is over, she can take care of herself. But money has to have been there a while and cannot be transferred in just before the application. Best to use a decent visa agent and have them help you with what paper work is required. It is doable alone but takes some experience to know exactly what they want to see

you can search by visit uk or uk visa on the group as well
Will ************
All her bank statements showing wages going in, letter from employer, dates arriving in UK and leaving, all her family details (mother, father, kids ), if she owns her house then chuck in the deeds. Amount she will spend when in UK, if supporting her ALL the transfer slips from western union etc, chuck in your own bank statements showing you can support, copy of your passport, anything else you can think of.
