I think you simply miss the point, this persons expectations and mine as well from decades of flying locally in Southeast Asia are that overweight is acceptable, but against stated rules, this news item is newsworthy and a public service, and yes I will certainly investigate it by asking around if things have changed next time I fly, restating and moralizing about obvious rules that have been routinely broken in the past which this thread is filled with has little utility, unlike this man's personal experience, which does have utility 🤣
