@Graham ********
it’s easy to do at BKK. Just follow the signs after passport control.

You aren’t likely to be denied entry if you have proof that you have plans to leave before you enter an overstay.

By checking this the airline has done its “due diligence” and isn’t responsible if you are denied entry for some other reason.

If they don’t check and you’re denied entry because you can’t prove you have plans to leave, the airline has to absorb the cost of getting you back where you belong.

Washington DC accepts my business bank account for my visa - it’s not DTV and I know that different visas can have different requirements, but I would imagine this one would be same. I have both the company name and then my personal name on the statements

@Jacques *******
while it says up to 15 days my visas (different type but it shouldn't matter) are typically issued in 3 or fewer days - but I always apply about 30 days prior to my anticipated flight date

@Ellie ******
thanks! I figured their was a reason for it, just isn't one that I've personally had to deal with.

Serious question, because I don't know, but why would you need a copy? I am pretty sure plenty have been filed when I stayed in hotels but I've never been given a copy nor have I ever had a need for the copy. I am sure there is some reason I am missing or not thinking about?

Definitely wait. When the rule says “A” bank account you have to keep two things in mind. One is that many things don’t translate well to English. The other is that rules in Thailand - especially in immigration - are whatever the person you are standing before says they are. So I agree with the sentiment to not make it any harder than it needs to be! I wouldn’t even ask ahead of time because if they say it’s fine then, there is no guarantee you will get the same answer when you go back 2 months later (or 2 days for that matter.)

my daughter flew to join me in Bangkok, through BKK, just a few months ago entirely alone. She was 15 at the time.I sent a letter with her just in case but no one ever asked her for it.

i've never been asked to show money (i've been prepared to but never asked) Not on B visa, not on tourist stamp, nothing. but i hear tales all the time of folks who are (so I am always prepared to be able to do so, just never been asked)
