The DTV doesnt support a work permit so you cannot 'get a work permit' until you already move to another work permit supporting visa class.

To pay to rent a condo the rent isnt specially taxed but ALL money imported to thailand in a year you are tax resident is potentially admissable income. Admissable doesnt mean liable but potentially liable.

incorrect.. Your talking about non Thai sourced income. Rental income is domestic source income and hence is taxed here.

It may be below the tax threshold but it is still thai taxable.

All visa classes (except 1 year duration for ltr) which stay over 90 days do 90 day reports.

Why ?? Given its a multiple entry visa there seems little logical reason to try to retain a permission of stay, when a new entry will give a fresh 180..

Re-entry permits are used to maintain a current permission of stay through to its end date, but when holding a ME visa you will always get more (the max 180) than by using a re-entry and having 180 minus however much you used.

Did he see the visa.. You need to have him correct it before you leave.

You simply cannot rely on what someone in the MFA says, about something the Dept of Interior will do.

ask them for a 'proof of residence' or 'proof of residential address'..

Explain the same one you need to buy a vehicle (when immigration wont give the letter) they should know what that is.
