Just a check.

Brother arrived with a marriage O, single, 90 days. E visa.

He cannot get a 30 day extension on that ?? He would get 7 days to leave the country ??

He had a 60 day family extension back in Jan 2023 bit not on this visa entry. My belief is family extensions are once a year not once per visa ??

This is Chiang Mai in case there is any regional issues.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquires about the extension options for a Non-O visa holder in Thailand. Upon arrival, the individual cannot obtain a 30-day extension as it's not available for Non-O entries; they can only apply for a 60-day family visit extension. It is clarified that family extensions are one-time per visa, not annually.

30 day extension is a tourist extension. It's only available from a tourist visa or visa exempt.

thats what I thought.. his last visit something strange happened at the end but he has a new passport and I am not clear what

Right, a 30-day tourism extension is NOT available for Non-O entry.

He can apply for 60 days family visit extension. It's a one-time extension per visa.

I have never heard any extension is limited by calendar..

OK thanks.. per visa.. thats helpful.

To add to that.. if he gets a 60 day family extension, can he extend 30 days on that or only 7 'to leave' ??
Ellie *******
After 60 60-day family visit extension, only a 1-year extension or "7 days to leave the kingdom" is available. No other short-term extension including 30 days.

what I dont understand is his last visit he stayed 6 months, without doing a border run, and having entered on a non imm O single and not getting a 12 month extension !!!

Hes not clear how, I dont have his old passport, and I cant figure it out. Hes saying they saw his plane ticket and gave him a 30 day but I dont think that holds up..
