Every provider worldwide throttles after a certain amount of data usage ( they say unlimited data, but it becomes barely usable after X GB. The attached screenshot is with dtac in Bangkok. Slower than in Europe, but still good enough for me. They asked me for a work permit, too. I offered to pay by automatic card payment which they accepted. Guess they just want proof that you have a regular income to pay your bills. Otherwise you’ll be stuck on prepaid. I didn’t like prepaid especially when i ran out of data when trying to check into places with that thaichana covid app. Allowing me to check in and "protect people by allowing me easy contact tracing showed them my good intentions 555
If the airline says no, try booking the cheapest ticket out of the country while you’re still in front of the check in counter. One of the thai youtubers did this in srilanka
Get a marriage certificate before leaving the UK. I’m not married but heard from others that it could be pretty annoying requesting this from inside Thailand. I believe youtuber Chuck from notime2bsad made a video about it
In my experience they don’t like when you come too early. They made an exception in phuket when i told them that I’ll travel to pak chong and the korat immigration is hard to find 🙏
My dtac mobile is auto paid with my wise card(setup in dtac App) true fiber is paid with the same card automatically but i needed to bring my wise card into a true shop. electricity through MEA in Bangkok seems only to access thai credit cards. I just setup a reminder in the app and pay in there if a new bill arrives
"to visit“ can mean a 2 weeks vacation or south east Asia trip or even moving here permanently. Costs are depending on your lifestyle. Party every day will be expensive, living with others in the same room with others in a hostel can be dirt cheap. Imported food is pricy too. I have mot cooked pnce in 15 months and I’m happy with local food. Up to you as they say 🙏
