depends on the city and the location.

In BKK you won’t be in the heart of the city without roughing it

Amenities won’t be as nice.

But yes he can do it, just a little tighter and will have to pick his luxuries

Then You have got food entertainment and travel

You also need to reserve money for regular bills (electricity, phone, internet, etc)

And then of course health insurance (not cheap at that age)

By travel I mean international flights (of course he can take a bus around Thailand)

Pretty much no travel on that budget

But make do with what you have and you can be happy there (much better than in the UK)

Only thing I miss about the PNW is the food… but compared to Thailand the food is nothing
